After business school, I searched for a career path wherein I could find my passion. A wise mentor suggested I “pick a lane and jump in with both feet.”
In 2006, I took the advice and “jumped in” to my career in commercial real estate — and I haven’t looked back.
This fortunate (or rather unfortunate) timing gave me the benefit of experiencing the end of the “funny money” days and the chance to navigate the Great Recession. I learned that commercial real estate is a highly cyclical industry, and there are great opportunities for those who know how to find them.
Beginning my career during such a tumultuous time in the market cycle allowed me to evaluate my initial career goals and motivations. These evaluations were naturally amplified after getting married and having my two boys. Now I see the value in taking a longer-term approach to my business, and I understand the importance of balancing family and work as my two highest priorities.
When not in the office, I am spending time with my family, biking, and training in the martial arts.
